Connecting LED lighting
You can easily connect the LED lighting of your Ledgrip handrail yourself, even without experience in electrical work. Follow these five steps.
Step-by-step plan
The built-in LED strip and power supply are prepared for a quick plug-and-play installation.
-
Choose a connection point at the top or bottom
It's best to connect the power supply near an outlet, at the top or bottom of the stairs. Determine in advance which side the power cable will come out of the wall – top or bottom, left or right.
-
Hide the cable in the wall
The power cable comes out of the mounting bracket. Cut a narrow slot in the wall up to the power socket and push the cable into the slot. Plaster and paint over it so that everything remains neatly out of sight.
-
Connect the LED strip to the power supply
Plug the LED strip connector into the corresponding socket on the power supply (transformer). Pay attention to the + and − markings — connecting it the wrong way won't damage the strip, but it won't light up.
-
Plug the power supply into the wall socket
The Ledgrip lights up immediately. Not working? Check the strip's connection and make sure the outlet has power.
Need help? An electrician can take care of both the assembly and the connection for you.
-
Dimming for the right ambiance
The built-in lighting is dimmable. Did you optionally add a dimmer to your order? Connect it between the socket and the power supply for full control over the brightness.
